I’d like to think that a conversation of which I was a part while consuming an excess of hot wings contributed to the publication of this post in some way. If so, awesome. If not, it’s still a good read.
Especially fascinating is that it addresses—albeit indirectly—the fact that we seem to be on the road (myself included) of reading headlines but not articles. So it raises the spectre of another question: are news agencies merely feeding the problem, or are they encouraging its growth? I know that I fall into the trap all the time of reading a headline and then one or two paragraphs intently and then tuning out to the end.
This is a longer read to be certain, but I think it was well worth it. Grab a cup of Joe and spend a few minutes reading it.
